ER-T ER-T

The inner lining of the uterus, known as the endometrium, undergoes various stages of receptivity throughout a woman’s menstrual cycle. The specific timeframe during which the uterus is receptive to embryo implantation is termed the window of implantation. In an average 28-day cycle, this window is typically spans from days 20 to 24 – representing the period when conception is most likely to occur. However, every woman’s cycle varies, and for some, this window may be shorter and/or displaced.

Endometrial receptivity testing, or ER-T, is a diagnostic tool used to pinpoint the optimal time for embryo transfer. This is achieved by analysing the expression of genes associated with the receptive state of the endometrium. Through the assessment these genetic markers, ERT enables a personalised and tailored approach to each woman’s unique cycle. This individualised strategy increases the chances of successful implantation and subsequent pregnancy.

What is it?

ER-T is a type of genetic test used to evaluate the receptivity of the uterine lining (endometrium) for embryo implantation during the process of in vitro fertilisation (IVF). The test measures the gene expression patterns in the endometrium to determine the optimal time for embryo transfer.
